Nola, age 1

NO PHONES CALLS - EMAILS ONLY PLEASE. To be eligible to apply, you must live within 30 mins of Tulsa, have a privacy fence, a vet reference and dog experience. Thank you.

Written by her foster mom ... OMG, THAT FACE, SHE IS DARLING!!!

Nola is our fun and loving Irish Wolfhound/Standard Schnauzer mix weighing about 58 lbs. This girl is one very special dog. She is FILLED with PERSONALITY, but you have to get to know her. At first, she is aloof, like a cat, but within 3 days, she is bursting at the seams with excitement. She loves and needs a yard, so no apartments please. Lola absolutely loves to relax in the sun, or the shade, and enjoys hunting and smelling in a yard. She is one curious girl!
So, as mentioned above, Nola can be shy at first, so she needs time to get to know you. And, she thinks she is a small lap dog in disguise. She is very loving, affectionate, incredibly smart and moderately energetic. When Nola is out of her shell and comfortable in her space, she comes to life, bouncing around and playful! She has a great personality and can be very animated. At times, you will find yourself belly laughing at her antics!
Nola is house trained if taken out routinely. She is doing great with her crate training and doesn't generally make a peep overnight. She will crate too when you aren't at home. She is very good on leash, but will bark at strangers and try to dart for squirrels, so she needs a little work here and we are working on this. Nola will benefit greatly from a basic obedience class, just like any new dog to you and your family.
She loves her chew bones and can be mouthy when she plays, so we will not place her in a home with young children. She LOVES her large size black Kong. You don't even need to fill it with anything. She will throw it up in the air and play in the yard with it ... tug 'o war is also another favorite game, as is playing chase with a high value toy.
She is going to doggie daycare routinely now and is having a BLAST! She loves it ... loves to play with other doggies is so much fun for her.  Nola is low shedding, in fact, she barely sheds. Her coat is a little coarse AND soft ... but her ears are like velvet.
We think she would do best with someone who can provide her with a routine. She can either be an only dog, or live with another dog once a slow and proper acclimation and introduction occurs. We don't think living with a cat would be a good idea. She is overly interested in them, barks at them and will probably chase them.
She really is a great dog. Oh, and car rides ... she likes to ride shot gun with her seat belt harness cuz she likes to drive for you, or rest her head on your lap while you're driving. Just not a good idea!!! Nola doesn't have her drivers license, so we recommend either the back seat and/or a seat belt harness when in the car.  Nola was born about January 2020.

Meet the sweetest little girl ever, Patsy! This darling, compact little one is just ONE year old and only 11 lbs. Patsy is incredible, she has an incredibly docile temperament and is great with everyone.   Patsy is fine around other dogs and cats, although she was a little curious about the felines at first. Patsy is also great with humans, men and woman alike, and older kids, since she is a pip squeak!   Patsy is friendly, affectionate, smart and is less and less timid every day as she acclimates to foster care.   Patsy is house trained if kept on a schedule and crates beautifully. She has started playing with toys and is enjoying the Kong rope bears!   She loves to roam the back yard and explore during potty breaks and enjoys the company of the other doggies during "hunting". Princess, age 11

SENIOR ALERT!  Princess is a sweet and gentle spayed female Lab/Great Pyrenees mix of 11 yrs old and 55 lbs. She is just the best girl ever; sweet, gentle, easy going and ready for love!  Princess was pulled from a high kill shelter and we are so glad we saved her! She is a low maintenance girl who is house trained and doesn't need to be crated if gated off in the kitchen when you aren't home. She loves her big dog bed (not pictured here) and is great with humans and kids alike.   She is being fostered in a home with smaller dogs and is doing fine.  She seems to ignore the cats too. She is healthy, happy, friendly and has a lot of skip in her step! She likes to explore the yard and bask in the sun.   Seniors are easy, and they deserve love too! Do you have a place in your home and heart for her?  Qualified applicants must have a fenced in yard and dog experience along with a solid vet reference. ADOPTIONS ONLY TO PEOPLE LIVING IN THE NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA AREA. Sissy, age 1

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS live within 30 mins of Tulsa for a home visit, have a vet reference, secure fenced in yard and small breed experience. We prefer to place her in a home without men, or with men who are very patient. No kids under 12.

Sissy is our sweet and docile spayed female Dachshund mix weighing about 19 lbs. What a great dog ... and why did she get dumped in the country? Who knows, because she sure is a sweetheart. Thankfully a family who lived on that dirt road befriended her and contacted us for help. She was skin and bones when they first noticed her, and now, here she is, healthy and ready for adoption, ready to find the perfect home!   Sissy is great with other dogs. She loves to play, or cuddle with them. She is completely crate trained, in fact, she loves her crate, it's her safe place. She is also house trained if taken  out routinely and when you get her on a schedule. She is working on leash training and is great for a bath and nail trim.   Sissy likes to chew, so durable chew toys are important. If you leave her unattended for too long, she will chew things inappropriately, especially fabric, so be prepared. A couple of pillows in the screened in porch have bit the dust due to her chewing when she was left unattended!

Sissy is a little shy at first. She does well with women, but does fear men. Young children may also not be a great match for her, but older kids should be fine.   This little girl loves to eat, and with just another pound or so she will be at a perfect weight.   Sissy's biggest challenge is that she is very shy and untrusting at first. But, once you know her, Sissy is calm and easy going, she is extremely affectionate and super friendly once she knows you and trusts you. She listens well and is happy and playful once she feels confident in her environment. She sure has blossomed with us!!!   She is still figuring out her new life, and is doing amazing in her foster home and is nervous in new places, but in time, she will do better.?  ADOPTIONS ONLY TO PEOPLE LIVING IN THE NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA AREA. This means you need to live no more than 45 mins maximum from Tulsa, OK since we do home visits on every applicant who is approved on paper.  Sissy was born about December 2019.

Wimble, age 8 months

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS must live within 45 mins of Tulsa, have a
secure fenced in yard, another playful dog and a solid vet reference.

SPECIAL NEEDS boy ... this amazing little guy is Wimble. He has overcome a lot and is a sweet, friendly dog who needs a special home to be loved forever. As of 4/1/21, Wimble is 7 months old and approximately 35 lbs. He has some limited vision in both eyes, but it doesn't stop him from getting around just fine without issues! He is amazing.   Wimble was found in a parking lot, completely malnourished and with a likely traumatic, brain injury. His finders didn't think he would survive that first night, but with lots of TLC, proper vet and medical care, he did. Today, he is an energetic, love bug who loves people, other dogs, cats and playing!  Wimble will do best when placed in a home with another playful dog to have as his buddy.  Wimble is affectionate and friendly. He is doing great with potty training and can be baby gated when you aren't home. He has not started his crate training yet, but slow and steady wins the race! He has improved greatly with is leash training, but he isn't a pro yet! His foster home has a big yard to play in right now with other dogs, so walking in the neighborhood isn't a high priority!   Wimble loves to play with other dogs and his toys. He enjoys balls, ropes and stuffed toys. He also likes to snuggle with his humans. He will do best in a home when a human works from home or is home with him a fair amount of time. As he ages and continues to learn more about training, he will improve and do better being left alone for errands, etc.  Don't pass up this great dog due to his disability. Give him a chance to thrive and blossom. He will likely be the best dog you have ever owned.  He was born about September 2020.

Zoe, age 8

A QUALIFIED applicant lives no more than 45 mins from Tulsa, has a vet reference, fenced in yard children age 13 or older

Zoe is our sweet and docile spayed female Fox Terrier weighing 13 lbs. This little girl was originally from a breeder when she was a puppy, but her family was unable to keep her any longer, so we agreed to take her on and find a new forever for her!   Zoe is very quiet, easy going and mellow. We want to find a quiet and calm home for her. While she is fine with other small dogs, she is fearful of larger dogs. Zoe is shy ... she just does her own thing, but has excellent inside doggie manners. She is often found snuggling in a bed or in a crate while the door is open. She barely barks, ever.   We would prefer to place Zoe in home with kids who are ages 13 and up. Little kids with loud voices and quick movements are not her style. She is sophisticated and prefers an adult only home, or ones with adolescents who will truly respect her zest for a peaceful and even keeled environment.   Zoe is house trained and crate trained, but is often just baby gated in an area when foster mom isn't home.  She knows how to sit for a treat and is gentle when taking her treat. She is good on leash and is a bit of a couch potato ... so where is that laid back family or adopter who has a quiet, laid back life style to match Miss Zoe's?   Zoe was born about June 2013.
