Nola, age 1

NO PHONES CALLS - EMAILS ONLY PLEASE. To be eligible to apply, you must live within 30 mins of Tulsa, have a privacy fence, a vet reference and dog experience. Thank you.

Nola is our fun and loving spayed female Irish Wolfhound/Standard Schnauzer mix female weighing about 56 lbs. This girl is pretty special, so we will definitely be picky about placing her in the perfect home.   Nola can be shy at first, for about a few minutes, LOL ... then look out, she thinks she is a small lap dog in disguise. She is very loving, affectionate, incredibly smart and energetic. When Nola is out of her shell and comfortable in her space, she comes to life, bouncing around, acting playful and sometimes gets a little out of control! She has a great personality and can be very animated.   Nola is house trained if taken out routinely. She is doing great with her crate training and doesn't generally make a peep overnight. She will crate too when you aren't at home. She is decent on leash, but can certainly improve, so we are working on this.

Nola will benefit greatly from a basic obedience class.   She loves her chew bones and can be mouthy when she plays, so we will not place her in a home with young children. This is something we are working on, of course. Tug 'o war is one of her favorite games as is playing chase with a high value toy.   Nola is low shedding, in fact, she barely sheds. Her coat is a little coarse AND soft ... but her ears are like velvet.   We think she would do best with someone who can provide her with a routine exercise plan. She can either be an only dog, or live with another dog once a slow and proper acclimation and introduction occurs. We don't think living with a cat would be safe. She is overly interested in them, barks at them and will probably chase them.   She really is a great dog. Oh, and car rides ... she likes to ride shot gun with her seat belt harness cuz she likes to drive for you, or rest her head on your lap while you're driving. Just not a good idea!!! Nola doesn't have her drivers license, so we recommend either the back seat and/or a seat belt harness when in the car.   Nola was born about January 2020.

Pearl, age 4

Meet Pearl, our happy spayed female American Bull Dog mix weighing about 59 lbs. She is such a gentle and loving soul!   Pearl loves people and kids, is very friendly, affectionate and loves to ride in the car! Going for rides is definitely a favorite thing to do! She also enjoys fetch and a good run in the yard! She needs a secure, fenced-in yard. She LOVES to go on walks and is the Queen of snuggling.   Pearl can only be placed with laid back, older dogs who will leave her alone and pretty much ignore her. She just doesn't really like other dogs that much, so we will be particular about her placement as we want what is best for her.   She is so sweet, and she has been ready for her forever home for a while now. Where are her new people?   Pearl was born about November 2016.

Percy, age 11 months

Percy is a BIG dog, and a GREAT dog ... he is a mix of Great Dane and Labrador Retriever. This handsome lug is 83 lbs and is young, 9 months, born May of 2020.  Percy is friendly, playful, fun and ready for love. He is affectionate, house trained AND crate trained. He is decent on leash. He LOVES all kinds of toys, you name it. IF you want to play, bring it on! Chew toys are his favorite, digestible rawhides, Kongs, Nyla bones, yep, tough chew items!   Percy's owner abandoned him ... so his need to find a new home is entirely not his fault. He is just as sweet as can be! He has decent indoor manners and is learning basics, like "sit, stay, no and down".    Ready for a buddy? Spring will be here in no time, and this guy will be the perfect walking or running buddy for you. He sure is ready for someone to be committed for him and he deserves it!

Wimble, age 7 months

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS must live within 45 mins of Tulsa, have a
secure fenced in yard, another playful dog and a solid vet reference.

SPECIAL NEEDS boy ... this amazing little guy is Wimble. He has overcome a lot and is a sweet, friendly dog who needs a special home to be loved forever. As of 4/1/21, Wimble is 7 months old and approximately 35 lbs. He has some limited vision in both eyes, but it doesn't stop him from getting around just fine without issues! He is amazing.   Wimble was found in a parking lot, completely malnourished and with a likely traumatic, brain injury. His finders didn't think he would survive that first night, but with lots of TLC, proper vet and medical care, he did. Today, he is an energetic, love bug who loves people, other dogs, cats and playing!  Wimble will do best when placed in a home with another playful dog to have as his buddy.  Wimble is affectionate and friendly. He is doing great with potty training and can be baby gated when you aren't home. He has not started his crate training yet, but slow and steady wins the race! He has improved greatly with is leash training, but he isn't a pro yet! His foster home has a big yard to play in right now with other dogs, so walking in the neighborhood isn't a high priority!   Wimble loves to play with other dogs and his toys. He enjoys balls, ropes and stuffed toys. He also likes to snuggle with his humans. He will do best in a home when a human works from home or is home with him a fair amount of time. As he ages and continues to learn more about training, he will improve and do better being left alone for errands, etc.  Don't pass up this great dog due to his disability. Give him a chance to thrive and blossom. He will likely be the best dog you have ever owned.  He was born about September 2020.
