Barbie, age 8

SPECIAL NEEDS GIRL - BARBIE!
You must live within 30 mins of Tulsa, have a secure fenced in yard and a vet reference to be considered to adopt Barbie.

Look at this doll baby ... a beautiful, female Maltese of 8 yrs old and 13 lbs. Barbie is smart, full of love and is a super sweet little girl ready for your love. Barbie is affectionate, friendly and learns quickly. She will require routine, professional grooming.   Barbie is blind so she uses a "Halo" to help her get around. Trust us, she isn't afraid of anything and will acclimate well to your home. She is smart and feisty, so her outgoing personality and determined spirit have helped her succeed with her disability. She is very independent and is not afraid to run in the yard or explore through her foster mom's house. Wearing the halo helps with this a lot, and the other dogs keep their distance from her better. She loves being outdoors and wandering around in the yard. She will run with the other dogs when she hears them and will bark with them too.   We took her to the eye specialist, and both retinas have a degenerative disease which have caused them to deteriorate, creating her blindness. Unfortunately, the disease is not reversible, but it is not painful either.   Barbie loves to eat, and she is currently on a diet to trim her down a bit.   She is house trained when taken out on a schedule. Barbie loves to follow foster mom through the house and is her little shadow. Her hearing is very keen and she is always able to find her in the yard or house by her voice. She is a really easy dog, she just needs cues at times to find her way. She loves to snuggle on the couch and sleep close to you.   Barbie was born about April 2013.

Carson, age 3

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS must live within 30 mins of Tulsa,
have a secure fenced in yard and a solid
 vet reference.

This is Carson, our darling male Border Terrier/Yorkie mix of 2 - 3 years old and 18 lbs. This little guy is very docile and sweet. He is affectionate and loves attention! Carson is playful, fast and ready for the action!   Carson has been around other dogs and kids without issues! We have not cat tested him yet, but will soon. He does require a privacy fence for his back yard fence. He can get over a chainlink when tempted by those darn squirrels!   Carson is house trained if you take him out routinely and get him on a schedule. He will also crate overnight without issues and while foster mom is at work or running errands.   Carson likes to chew an occasional nyla bone and you may catch him playing with a squeaky toy, but watch out, he's one of those determined terriers who likes to chew the squeaker out of the toy!   Carson will do best when placed in his new home with another dog to be buddies with; he loves the companionship of other dogs, as you can see in one of his photos!   This little guy seems to have had a rough start, but he is so sweet and loving. He really deserves a place to call home that is safe and ready to treat him like a true member of the family. Maybe it's with you!     Carson was born about August 2018.

Please contact Amy at AmyH@rescuednready.com if you are interested in this dog.    Or CLICK HERE to download, then complete and submit an application. Adopters must live within 30 minutes of Tulsa.

Eva, age 1

Eva is our happy, friendly and sweet spayed female Lab/Heeler mix. Her mom, Daisy, is a heeler mix, so we know that part for sure!  Eva is just ONE year old now and weighs 56 lbs. We took her in as a young puppy who had been pulled under the neighbors fence and attacked by their dog. We thankfully were able to get her all fixed up and she healed while in foster care, then was adopted. Unfortunately, her human mom is ill and cannot care for her anymore, so she came back to us.

Now, Eva is a young adult and ready for love! She is an excellent dog; house trained, crate trained and knows sit. She is pretty good on leash too, but still pulls some.   Eva LOVES to play with other dogs, so a playful playmate would be ideal for her. She is good with kids too, no issues there. Eva is active AND a snuggler, so she is the best of both worlds! She likes toys too.   We hated to see her come back into the program, but we are confident she will find a great home.  You must have a secure fenced in yard and a vet reference to be eligible to apply.

Please contact Amy at 918-688-0755 or AmyH@rescuednready.com if you are interested in this dog.    Or CLICK HERE to download, then complete and submit an application.   ADOPTIONS ONLY TO PEOPLE LIVING IN THE NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA AREA. This means you need to live no more than 45 mins maximum from Tulsa, OK since we do home visits on every applicant who is approved on paper.

The adoption fee is $225.00 and includes current vaccinations, negative heartworm test, deworming, microchip and spay surgery.

Hoss, age 1

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS must live within 30 mins of Tulsa,
have a secure, privacy fenced in yard and a solid
 vet reference.

FOSTER NEEDED!!!  Meet Hoss, our very docile male Labrador Retriever/Hound mix of one and a half years old and 63 lbs.  Hoss is a super sweet and submissive boy. He can be a little timid at first, but once he knows he can trust you, he is "full on, love me!"    Hoss has had a rough start, but the GOOD NEWS is that he has shown us his spirit is resilient and he can be a happy, friendly and loving guy.   He is house trained and crate trained; he did perfectly fine in his crate for his 4 day foster stint! Hoss will probably do best living with another dog to keep him company when you're at work. We do think he would be fine as an only dog, but he sure does like doggie company. He is great on leash and is a slow eater; he is a picker.   He doesn't seem to have a very demanding energy level, he just wants love, affection and attention. We aren't sure what kinds of toys he likes to play with as he is in a boarding kennel right now, coming out for little walks and visits with our volunteers.   Give us a call about him, make our day. It will make his!   Hoss was born about February 2020.

Jenny, age 2

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS live within 30 mins of Tulsa,
have a secure, privacy fenced in yard and a solid vet reference.

Jenny is on the scene ... or should we say, Jenny is on the block! This girl,  is simply beautiful. Her beautiful blue eyes and blue merle coat will stop you in your tracks!  Jenny is about 2 years old and 56 lbs. Jenny is happy, loyal, gentle, playful, smart and full of life!   This girl is house trained and crate trained. She came to us originally with another husky mix, so we have seen her do well with other dogs. We have not cat tested her yet. Jenny would probably do fine with kids who are older, let's say 10 and up.   She LOVES her Kong toy filled with peanut butter and kibble, she enjoys digestible rawhide chews and her nyla bone. Going on walks is a treat too ... she loves sniffing everything and enjoying the great outdoors!   She does shed, so brushing with a Furminator brush helps a lot. She will blow her coat seasonally, but now, her coat is lush and healthy due to quality food and routine brushing; the way it should be!   Jenny was originally dumped in the country with another husky mix. She was covered in ticks, starving for food and clearly neglected! It's time for her new family to find her and give her all the love and attention she deserves for a happy, forever life.  Jenny was born about May 2019.

Max, age 8

To be eligible to apply, you must live within 30 mins of Tulsa,
have a secure fenced-in yard, a vet reference and
no children under the age of 8. Thank you.

This is Max, our very sweet and laid back male Chihuahua mix of 8 yrs old and 23 lbs. Yes, Max is a little chunky monkey, but he has already lost about 4 lbs., so far so good! Oh, and that's a skin tag in the corner of his eye, not a tick! The vet said it is fine and doesn't need to be removed surgically.
Max is a very easy dog. He is low maintenance, and who doesn't like that?? Max is loyal, friendly, gentle, quiet and a bit of a couch potato!  He is house trained and doesn't need to be crated, he has excellent indoor doggie manners. And look out, when you get the leash and harness ready for a walk, he goes crazy! He loves walks and is good on leash!
Max is fine with other dogs and cats. He enjoys the companionship of another dog but will only play occasionally with his foster siblings.  Max does shed, so keep this in mind.  He loves his foster mom, follows her around a lot, but she will often find him chilling out on the couch or in a dog bed.
Max's owner had to go into assisted living, and so now he is with us to find that new place to call forever. Maybe it's with you. Max was born about April 2013.

McDreamy, age 2

To be eligible to apply, you must live within 30 mins of Tulsa,
have a secure ,privacy fenced-in yard, and a vet reference .

McDreamy will do best as the only pet in the home.

Everyone knows the show Grey's Anatomy, which is how this handsome boy was named. Our McDreamy is a dream ... he is 2.5 years old and 85 lbs Mastiff/American Staffordshire Terrier mix.; a BIG boy, but a sweet and gentle boy. We are seeking a new owner who has large breed experience, someone who truly wants and loves a big dog and an only pet!   His indoor dog manners are impeccable and he crates like a dream. He is house trained, is superb on a leash and loves to ride in the car. McDreamy knows "sit" and "down". He minds well when you talk to him. He truly wants to please you.   He is very affectionate, he loves to be loved on. He is extremely loyal and smart. He is a bit of a couch potato who will play occasionally if you bait him to do so. He just wants love.   This big lug enjoys an occasional digestible rawhide chew, and he LOVES to play fetch. He is quite animated during a game of fetch, so fun to watch him run after his ball with a big smile on his face. Yes, he smiles. He is a happy boy.

McDreamy can be very submissive. He will tuck his tail when he feels like you aren't happy with him; a rather sensitive soul. He is a very chill boy. He will curl up on a chair or the couch, if you will let him, but he will also crate for up to 8 hours per day if you work away from the home. No worries there.   He is a decent eater; he eats in his kennel twice a day. Not a huge treat guy, but he will enjoy occasional treats.   McDreamy is just an easy dog. He will do best as the only pet in the home though, so please, don't attempt to apply if you have other pets or small children in the home. He has never acted aggressive with us, ever, but he is a big dog who doesn't know his size. He would probably do fine with a cat but we have not "cat tested" him as of yet.   He is currently being fostered in an apartment setting, and that's fine for him too since he is good on leash and is house trained and on a schedule for food and pottying. Naturally, we would love for him to have his own backyard, but apartment dwellers should not pass him by! McDreamy was born about February 2019.
