Mr. Lucky
To be eligible to apply, you must live within 30 mins of Tulsa, have a solid dog/vet reference, and a secure fenced-in yard. Applicants also must have prior small dog breed experience. Lucky can be placed with other dogs his size or under 50 lbs, but no small children under the age of 8 please.
LAP DOG ALERT!!! Meet our resident miniature werewolf ... Mr. Lucky! Doesn't he look like a little fuzzy werewolf? He is nothing like one though, in fact, just the opposite. Mr. Lucky, or "Lucky" as we call him, is as sweet as can be ... doesn't have a mean bone in his little 8 lbs body! He is just 7 yrs old and is a very good boy. You will notice his front left leg has a birth deformity. You can see it turns out a bit, like he is standing in a ballerina position! Just know that it doesn't stop him from walks, play time or anything. He isn't in any pain and isn't on any medication for it, so please don't worry about this. We promise it's a non-issue and doesn't hurt or bother him. Our vet has examined him thoroughly.
Mr. Lucky is a lover and a lap dog! He is friendly, affectionate, gentle, fun, loving, easy going and an absolute doll! He likes everyone he meets and is good with dogs his size or a little larger. He is a GREAT eater and is loves to snuggle on the couch with foster mom watching TV. He barks when he sees activity in the yard, or when someone comes to the door, but he is not a "yappy" dog. He may be suitable for apartment living as he is also great on leash. He loves to go on walks and now that the weather is nicer, he is digging it big time! Lucky is house trained and crate trained. He sleeps through the night in his crate and loves his bed time treat. He is currently on a fish-only diet to help with the allergies, so a few freeze dried salmon crumbles at bed time is his favorite! This little curious guy loves to explore in foster's yard and will occasionally play with a stuffed, squeaky toy. He is pretty laid back.
Lucky will require an owner who is willing to manage his skin allergies. Currently, he is getting a Cytopoint Injection once every 6 weeks at the vet. This will cost his new owner approximately $50 per month. It is a non-steroidal remedy and is a game changer for him. He is also on a limited ingredient diet which is fish based (salmon) and gets a morning generic Zyrtec. He is bathed with a medicated shampoo about once a week. This little scruffy guy is ready for someone to love him to the moon and back. He is so deserving of a loving home. Maybe it's with you! Lucky was born about March 2016.

Sugar Bear Freddy
You must live within 30 mins of Tulsa, have a secure, fenced in yard
and a solid vet reference.
Meet Sugar Bear Freddy ... he is the most and sweet Sugar Bear ever. We estimate him to be about 9 - 10 years old and he is finally at a healthy weight of 62 lbs. This guy is happy, friendly, affectionate, funny, gentle, laid back and ready for some serious love. Just look at his pictures, he is always smililng. Such a doll, he is so happy to be living a new, different and good life! He is good with everyone he meets. Let us tell you a little bit about him ...
You see, Sugar Bear Freddy was picked up as a stray in a rural area and taken to a kill shelter. We noticed him, and knew he stood little chance of getting a family. We took him into our program to give him a second chance to live out his retirement years in a loving home. Someone owned him and loved him, but it seems as though before he came to that shelter, he had been neglected. Sugar Bear Freddy was tied to something with a cord of some sort around his neck which left an embedded-type sore which was very infected. It looked awful, but it is healed now. This guy has endured a lot and we want to give him every chance at finding a loving and forever home. He has more than earned it.
Freddy was heartworm positive, and is just finishing his 90 day treatment, so is ready to be adopted! He is very healthy, just had his teeth cleaned and is otherwise fully vetted (all vaccines, prevention, neutered, microchip, etc.). The folks at the shelter named him Fred, but when Volunteer Amy saw him, he instantly remined her of the character on a vintage cereal box, what she thought was Sugar Bear something or other. Oh well, he does look like a happy bear, so there you have it!
Freddy is great with other dogs, including his best bud, foster brother Ty. We haven't cat tested him yet, but we will. As far as kids are concerned, he should be fine with children who will show him respect and kindness as an older gent. Sugar Bear Freddy is house trained and crate trained. He has excellent inside doggie manners. He enjoys sunning himself outside or resting in the shade. Just because he is laid back and likes to nap, he has a lot of life left in him, so don't let his age of 9 fool you at all! He will keep you smiling daily, his temperament is amazing. He is just a sweetheart. Please, consider him today. We will move a mountain for him to be loved and find a new family. Sugar Bear Freddy was born about April 2014

Tasha
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: You must live within 30 mins of Tulsa,
have a solid vet reference and a secure fenced in yard. Please be advised that the fence type must be concrete block or a concrete barrier
or we may consider allowing her to live in an apartment setting
due to her digging/escaping ability.
Playing dress up with Tasha was fun for us humans, but Tasha was on the fence about it! Fun pics ... meet our sweet Tasha. She is approximately 8 years old and 26 lbs, a perfect size! We are calling her a cocker spaniel mix because of her desire to hunt, the shape of her head/ears and size. Her coat is soft but wirey in places.
Tasha is active, playful and full of zest; no old doggy genes going on with this spry girl! She is extremely friendly, affectionate, sweet natured, happy, cuddly and wants to please her people. This girl is always wagging her tail, just a happy girl! Her indoor doggie manners are great; she is house trained and crate trained. She minds well, knows "sit" and crates easily when asked. She is totally quiet overnight and will only bark when the other dogs do or when you first come home due to excitement. She is also great with kids. We will cat test her soon as we haven't done that yet!
Tasha is excellent with other dogs of all sizes. She will engage with play and communicate well with them. Playing with toys is something she has just started to do in her foster home, but she needs "tough" toys, like any terrier. Nyla bones and Kongs are great though, and she sure loves them! This girl loves to "squirrel watch" and to be outside. This is why her yard needs to be so very safe ... see the information below about her being an avid digger. She will stare and sit for a long time, waiting and watching for the next squirrel to move in the yard! She is very intense about her squirrel hobby! Tasha is great on leash. She does pull some, but she LOVES to go on walks.
Tasha is very healthy, but she does have some seasonal allergies. We are remedying those with a daily dose of generic Zyrtec and a Cytopoint injection once every 6 weeks at the vet; a monthly cost of approximately $55- $60 for an adopter.
Tasha's ONLY negative attribute is fence-line digging. She is very prone to dig out of any yard, regardless of how much attention she receives. Because of this, and for obvious safety reasons, we will only place her in a setting we feel is truly safe for her; in an apartment setting where she will be on leash at all times when outside, OR in a yard where there is concrete block or a concrete border in the yard. RnRAF is willing to work with an approved adopter on this critical aspect of placing Tasha. We will provide suggestions for reinforcing the fence line and may help with some of that expense on a reasonable basis. Tasha is a very special girl and we will place her carefully to make sure she lives a long, happy life with her new owner. Tasha was born about April 2015.
Email us an application today about her and we will call you to discuss IF you meet the basic requirements mentioned in the very beginning of this bio.
Please contact Amy at 918-688-0755 or AmyH@rescuednready.com if you are interested in this dog. Click here to complete our online application. Adopters must live within 30 minutes of Tulsa since we do home visits on every applicant who is approved on paper.
The adoption fee is $225.00 and includes current vaccinations, negative heartworm test, deworming, microchip and spay surgery.

Zeus
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS must live within 30 mins of Tulsa,
have a secure PRIVACY or tall WROUGHT IRON fence
around the entire back yard, and a solid vet reference.
Here is our handsome boy, Zeus! This guy ... he is just an amazing dog! We love him so much. We just can't say enough wonderful things about him. This handsome hunk of love is a total goober and goofy boy. He makes us laugh daily! He is one of those dogs who you will never forget. He is one of those dogs who can change your life because he loves so much and will just be one with you as your life long companion. His smile and personality ... well, these pics say it all. Just the sweetest boy ever.
Zeus is a 4 and a half year old American Bulldog mix of 74 lbs. This docile and loving boy was left to fend for himself in a neighborhood for two years. We gladly took him into our program and he has transformed from a scared, lonely boy to the foster family town clown; happy, animated, fun and super loving. This is one of those dogs we call resilient. Resilient to humans who don't care and who don't treat their pets like family members. He is forgiving, loving and simply an amazing dog.
Please note that we would like to place Zeus in a home with another dog. He loves them and he loves to play. In fact, he loves the ladies, so placing him in a home with a female playmate would be fantastic but he loves play time with male dogs too! It helps him to feel secure with another dog in his life. A dog 30 lbs or more would be great for him!
Zeus is friendly and affectionate once he knows you. He is quicker to trust with women than men, so that is an area we are still working on but have had some break throughs for sure! He has acclimated to his foster home very quickly and nicely. He knows his routine now at his foster home and is easy to manage. He is house trained and crate trained. He loves sturdy chew toys like nyla bones or antlers. He has a great appetite and eats in his crate twice a day, finishing every kibble in his bowl. He loves treats too. He is fine with small, medium and large sized dogs, but due to his size, he will play safest with a dog 30 lbs and up! Zeus is also fine with cats. He is a gentle boy. Actually, Zeus thinks he is about 20 lbs. He would love to cuddle with you on the couch and he leans on you for love. We keep telling him he is a tad larger than 20 lbs! He has not been around young children, but dog savvy kids who are a little older would be fine with him. Zeus is healthy and up to date on all vaccines, fecal exam, he is neutered and microchipped. Zeus was born about April 2018.
